Scott Simpson

Scott Simpson joined the D.C. office of Hamilton Campaigns in 2007. Throughout his career, Scott has provided analysis and guidance on Senate and Congressional campaigns, as well as mayoral and statewide down ballot races. Scott is a trained focus group moderator, having received training at the RIVA Institute. Scott has a particular interest in helping minority candidates win tough seats and in helping clients understand the cultural differences and dynamics of minority communities.

During the 2004 and 2006 cycles, Scott was a senior analyst with Lake Research Partners. In that capacity, he conducted survey and focus group research projects for a variety of political campaigns from city council to President, as well as for non-profit organizations, labor unions, and private foundations.

Prior to joining Lake Research, Scott worked for a political software firm, where he helped clients with FEC and State financial disclosure and helped develop a custom voter database and GOTV application. In 1998 Scott worked for the campaign and then administration of former Washington, D.C. Mayor, Anthony Williams.

Originally from Massachusetts, Scott is still an avid fan of the Red Sox and Patriots, but in 2003 after years of despair and frustration decided to move to Gainesville, Florida. In addition to admission to the Gator Nation and the winning attitude that entails, Scott also picked up a Masters Degree in Political Science. Scott earned his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Communications from Millersville University in Pennsylvania, where he put himself through school by conducting telephone interviews for the Keystone Poll. Scott and his wife Jeannie live in Washington, D.C. where they are expecting their first child sometime before the 2007 SEC Championship.
