Hamilton Campaigns

Kirk Eilers
Opposition Researcher

Kirk Eilers

Kirk joined the growing team at Hamilton Campaigns in the summer of 2007. He brings a wealth of experience, knowledge, and skills to the research department.

Kirk got his feet wet in politics by working as a legislative assistant at the Iowa House of Representatives. It was there that he really got to see "how the sausage was made" and came to understand the politics they don't teach in social studies. From there he moved on to working for the Iowa Democratic Party as a field director for state legislative campaigns. He went 3 for 3 - winning two House seats and one Senate seat.

Looking for adventure and a way to sharpen his skills Kirk found himself in Montana working for Project Vote Smart. It was there that Kirk realized he had a true love of research and the skills to do it well. Most recently Kirk worked in Indiana for Communities United to Strengthen America, a non-profit dedicated to middle class issues. As regional research associate it was his job to field requests for information from offices scattered throughout the mid-west.

Kirk is a tireless team player and problem solver who will do what it takes to get the job done. Having grown up and lived in some of the reddest parts of red state America he understands the motivations of voters and the narratives that reach them. He also makes pretty good coffee.

Kirk holds a bachelors degree in political science from the University of Iowa. He currently resides in Fernandina Beach, Florida.
